In many states across the United States, the ideas about marijuana have been changing. This shift is even occurring in conservative states.
However, in these conservative states, they often pass medical marijuana laws that involve CBD-only. These laws limit the patients that are able to benefit from medical marijuana.
Additionally, some states like Georgia often fail to provide a legal way obtain CBD oil. This often means that CBD patients are required to drive to a state that does allow for CBD oil purchase or risk legal ramifications and have their CBD oil shipped. Federal law states that both of these practices are illegal. There are fourteen other states with legal CBD oil.
The debate over whether CBD-only legislation is positive or negative lies on a fine line.
In some ways, it is good because CBD-only may be the only way that medical marijuana will be accepted in a given state and provide relief to patients who live there. However, the flip side is that in these states there are sick people, like those suffering from HIV or cancer, who are denied medication that could ease some of their symptoms simply because it happens to contain THC.
Clearly, as a nation we have a long way to go yet.
